THe BENEFITS OF HIIT CARDIO.

High Intensity Interval Training also known as HIIT in my opinion can be one of the best alternatives to enhance a group workout or class. There is so much going on in the world right now with COVID surges, remote learning for kids, adults working endless hours that its never enough time to get a good workout in. HIIT is ideal for those types of people. HIIT is alternating intense bouts of exercise followed by less intense resting periods. This type of training get and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time. This type of program trains both anaerobic and aerobic energy systems. Some class or group participants are not able to complete a full hour length workout, so this may be a good option for them.

Some benefits to HIIT workouts are:

  • Increases in metabolism

  • Weights are necessary and participants can easily use their own body weight on the exercises

  • Increase muscle mass

  • Decrease of body fat

  • Increase endurance and strength

  • Designed for any stage or level of fitness
